Reasons Why You Should Sign Your Child Up For YMCA Day Camp

Be sure to sign your child up for all of the fun and learning that happens at camp!

If you went to camp when you were kid, then you know that some of your most fun and happy memories came from the adventures and activities you experienced during summer camp. Whether you went to a sports camp to become an all-star athlete, an art camp to learn the craft of Picasso, or a traditional day camp where you spent all day swimming, exploring and playing games, these summer camp memories are some that you will never forget, even as an adult!

For all of the parents out there with fond memories of your own camp adventures, now is your chance to sign your own children up for a summer full of fun and memories of their own through our YMCA Day Camp program. With several different day camps to choose from, these exciting camps will keep your kids involved in hands-on activities and will get them outside, engaging in outdoor activities all summer long.

Still unsure if YMCA Day Camp is right for your child this summer? Here are three exciting reasons why you should consider signing up your child for one of YMCA's Summer Day Camp programs:

We have programs for everyone!

No matter what age your child is or what their interests may be, rest assured that we have a fun, exhilarating day camp just for them! Our Summer Day Camps include:

  • Preschool camp: Designed specifically for children between the ages of 3 and 5-years-old, preschool camp includes tons of hands-on learning activities, splash time in the pool, and all around fun!
  • Traditional day camp: Designed for children between the ages of 5 and 12-years-old, traditional day camp is a great option for boys and girls who are interested in playing fun summer games, participating in arts and crafts, exploring science and technology, and participating in fun field trips!
  • School-based day camps: Designed for children between the ages of 5 and 12-years-old, our school-based day camp are typically located at neighboring schools  and feature fun activities that keep kids entertained, while also teaching them core values, conflict resolution and leadership skills.
  • Outdoor day camps: If your child is an outdoorsman or is craving the classic camp experience (but is not quite ready to spend the night away from home at an overnight camp), outdoor day camp may be the perfect experience for them! In this day camp, kids enjoy a number of outdoor fun activities, including archery, swimming canoeing, and more!

Camp gets your child off the couch and into the outdoors!

If you are worried about your child playing video games all summer long or wasting their days away inside on the couch, have no fear. Our YMCA Summer Day Camps ensure that your kids are getting outside each and every day to engage in outdoor activities. By ensuring that they are spending at least a portion of their day outside, kids have the opportunity to explore nature, find new talents and even try out new outdoor activities!
