Introduce your child to one of the most complete sports around. Competitive swimming develops aerobic endurance and is one of the most beneficial forms of cardiovascular exercise. This sport provides flexibility and muscle toning, in addition to developing self-confidence, self-discipline, and goal setting. Open for ages 5 to 21 years of age.
Each swimmer will be grouped by age and ability. A swim team assessment is required to ensure proper placement of your swimmer.
Swimmers must be able to swim 15 feet freestyle with face in and kick on back 15 feet for the Cub group (5 yrs and up), 25 yards on their front and back for the White group (5-9 yrs old) and 50 yards for the Red group (10-21 yrs old).
Must be able to swim the length of the Learning L without assistance on stomach and back. (This group is exempt from swim meets.)
Swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards freestyle with side breathing and 25 yards backstroke.
Swimmers must be able to swim 50 yards freestyle and backstroke without stopping. Must have working knowledge of breaststroke and butterfly, dive off starting block and be able to circle swim.
Swimmers must have 4 legal strokes and be 9 years old or be a 7/8 year old and have swum a 100 IM in a meet in under 2:00 minutes and be able to swim 1500-2000 yards in practice.
Swimmers must be at least 11 years old, be able to complete 100 of each stroke, maintain intervals and be able to swim 2000-3000 yards in practice.
Swimmer must be at least 11 years old, be able to swim 100 of each stroke in a swim meet and maintain intervals set by coach. Swimmers must be able to swim 2500 -3300 yards in a practice.
Swimmers must meet at least the requirements for white group.
