DALLAS (May 21, 2018) The YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas’ sound fiscal management practices and commitment to accountability and transparency have earned it a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator. The 4-star rating is a result of the YMCA maintaining sound fiscal management practices and a commitment to accountability and transparency in its efforts as a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas Foundation Awards College Scholarships

DALLAS (May 3, 2018)  Twenty Dallas-area high school seniors received a total of $43,000 in academic scholarships from the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas Foundation and its supporters at its 38th Annual College Scholarship Reception. These scholarships are renewable over four years for a total of $172,000.  Along with these scholars, the YMCA awarded an additional $119,000 to 71 continuing college students who re-qualified for prior scholarships based on academic achievement.

Dallas Marathon’s Inaugural Five on the 4th Event Benefiting the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas

DALLAS (April 17, 2018) - Registration for the first running of the Five on the 4th, benefiting the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas, launched today at BMWDallasMarathon.com. Hosted by the Dallas Marathon, Five on the 4th is a five-mile run accompanied by additional family-friendly events, starting and ending at Klyde Warren Park on the morning of July 4th, 2018.

Communities Foundation of Texas gives $150,000 to support racial equality in Dallas

DALLAS, TX - Jan 18, 2018  The Communities Foundation of Texas is distributing $150,000 among 35 nonprofits that promote racial equality via storytelling in Dallas. Cara Mia Theatre Co., for instance, will use the money to engage youth and community members with its performances.
 
"Allowing people the space to tell their stories and experiences of bias and discrimination and providing opportunities for others to hear those stories and be touched by them is the first step toward healing," said Communities Foundation's chief philanthropy officer, Sarah Cotton Nelson.
