SLAM DUNK: Skylar Diggins Reads to Park South YMCA Day Campers

WNBA Dallas Wings Guard, Skylar Diggins stopped by the Park South YMCA to read her new book “Middle School Rules of Skylar Diggins”. Skylar was welcomed by 60 Day Campers in the Park South Gym with style. Pre-schoolers created posters saying “Welcome Skylar Diggins” while older kids clapped and cheered as she greeted them.

Skylar read her two favorite chapters from her books and answered several questions from kids. She offered some valuable advice for any child wanting to achieve their dreams. “Surround yourself with people that have your best interest at heart, mentors, and people who have been where you are trying to go. Continue to push yourself!” she said. Afterwards, kids got a chance to do some basketball drills with Skylar and finish off the afternoon with pictures.

Skylar’s book is the third installment of the Middle School Rules series written by Sean Jensen. His series aims to inspire kids with stories about athletes who faced childhood lessons and challenges just like them. The athletes defy incredible odds and they give advice the reader along the way.
