Stay Fit As Your Family Heads 'Back To School'

Just because the kids are headed back to school doesn’t mean the added summer activities need to come to an end. Kids and adults alike need exercise every day to stay fit and healthy. Studies show that exercise increases immunity, which is very helpful since the kids are bringing home all kinds of new germs with the start of the school year. The added stress of change and less activity can lead to behavioral problems and more stress at home. Making physical activity a priority is a great way to stay on top of everyone’s health. Here are a couple of suggestions!

  1. An evening swim at a local pool still works since it will continue to be hot outside in August.
  2. If it is hard to fit in time in the evening, try turning some upbeat music on and dancing together in the house.
  3. Setting up a quick exercise circuit is always fun. Put on a fun workout playlist, and for 30 second intervals do sit-ups, pushups, burpees, wall sits, and squats.

Fitness is a fun way to spend quality time together as a family and do your body some good at the same time! What will you do to stay fit this fall?
