FRISCO EXECUTIVE TIMES - SEPTEMBER

Dear Frisco YMCA Members and Friends,

Allow me to introduce myself to those of you reading our newsletter for the first time. My title is Vice President of Operations for the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas, but I am most excited to serve as the Executive Director of the Frisco Family YMCA. As a career staff member for the YMCA, I cannot think of a more exciting time to be apart of a cause-driven organization like the Y as we work to strengthen community. Since 1991, the Frisco YMCA has served families in our community in countless ways including childcare, adult fitness, youth sports, cancer survivor program and much more.

We focus our work in three areas:

Youth Development: Nurturing the potential of every child and teen. At our Y, we work together with local school districts to provide a safe environment for children during afterschool hours to give working parents piece of mind; help children discover friendships and build confidence at summer camps, offer youth sports programs year round, and provide youth an opportunity to get fit through our Youth Circuit and Teen Fit classes.

Healthy Living: Improving individuals health and well-being. The Frisco Family Y is committed to helping adults, children and families lead healthy, active lifestyles. We help cancer survivors gain back flexibility and strength, ensure that seniors are active older adults, help individuals lose weight and gain confidence, and provide the best darn cycling classes in the area!

Social Responsibility: Giving back and providing support to our neighbors. We offer volunteer opportunities for members to give back to their community through the Y. Our Military initiative provides military families a free YMCA membership. Our financial aid program ensures that all YMCA programs and services are available to anyone, regardless of ability to pay.
