5 Ways Young People Can Connect Globally
A global perspective is critical for creating lasting change in our communities and around the world. Here are simple tips young people can take to expand their worldview:
- Learn a new language. Download an app like Duolingo or join a foreign language club at school, if your school offers one.
- Try foods from another culture. Visit restaurants featuring food from a different culture. Or try cooking something yourself! Try some global recipes.
- Listen to a news podcast. Learn about the world by listening to a news podcast, like Skimm This or BBC Global News Podcast.
- Attend a cultural festival. Celebrate the customs of a different culture by attending a local festival. In March, for example, learn about Holi, a colorful Hindu festival that celebrates love and happiness.
