The YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas has been listening and responding to our cities most critical social needs for more than 130 years. Whether it is teaching life saving skills to children through swim lessons or developing leadership skills in teens, providing a safe place for children after school or energizing healthier life styles for all, the YMCA has been empowering the people in our community to be healthy, confident and connected.

With the help of over 1,700 dedicated YMCA volunteers the Y will again make good on that promises, as the YMCA Annual Campaign surpassed this year’s goal with donors contributing $4.3 million to support the children and families in our community.

Cynde Coulson, Managing Director at Sirius Solutions, L.L.L.P led this year’s successful Association Campaign as the Chairwoman.  Seventeen Y branch campaigns achieved their goal raising 100% or more. These branches include:  Cross Timbers, Coppell, Camp Grady Spruce, Park South, T. Boone Pickens, Frisco, McKinney, Waxahachie, Lake Highlands, J.E.R. Chilton, Grand Prairie, White Rock, Lakewest, Town North, Oak Cliff, and Moorland YMCA.

“Our promise to the Dallas community is at the Y, no child, family or adult is turned away.  We recognize for communities to succeed, everyone must be given an opportunity to not only participate but to grow and reach their potential.”  said Gordon Echtenkamp, President/CEO of the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas.

Some of the impact areas these funds support include:

WATER SAFETY PROGRAMS
