ANGEL CAMP
Angel Camp at the J.E.R. Chilton YMCA at Rockwall creates an opportunity for children and teens to explore, grow, and build friendships in a safe, caring, and supportive environment. Our summer program serves youth ages 8–18 with intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing a fun and engaging camp experience designed to encourage confidence, independence, and meaningful connections.
Campers enjoy day camp activities including archery, BB riflery, arts and crafts, swimming, canoeing, group games, field trips, and more. Every activity is designed to help campers learn new skills, experience adventure, and create lasting summer memories.
To help ensure a successful camp experience, participants must be able to independently change and dress themselves and use the restroom without assistance.

Applications for the 2026 Angel Camp season open February 1, 2026, and in-person interviews will be held in March.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Angel Camp operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Camp is offered during six one-week sessions throughout June and July.
- We accept a maximum of 20 campers each week.
- Camp operates with a 1:5 counselor-to-camper ratio, ensuring campers receive the support and encouragement they need.
- Campers are responsible for bringing their own lunch each day.
