Swimming
Life is better in the water! Discover what the YMCA has to offer for aquatic enthusiasts.

Swim Lessons
The YMCA offers a wide range of swim class options, including adult swimming lessons, to ensure everyone can enjoy the water. If you’re unsure which class is best for you or your child, ask about a swim assessment!

Join a Swim Team
Have fun, build healthy habits, and develop teamwork and sportsmanship values when you join a swim team at the YMCA! Contact your local branch for level requirements.

Become a Lifeguard
Enjoy working in the summer sun while keeping people safe when you earn your lifeguard certification at the YMCA (must be 16 years or older)! In addition to working as a lifeguard, your certification allows you to become a swimming instructor or coach.

In the beginning, Kamyah was very anxious, but now she practices her swim routine on her own. Recently, she jumped from the wall in the shallow end without assistance — a big accomplishment! She swims 7 laps each day.

Elijah has been swimming since last summer and has gained so much muscle strength—his doctor is thrilled! I’ve also been using the pool for physical therapy after my car accident, and it’s helped me gain strength and flexibility. We’re both making great progress!

Water Safety
