MEMORIAL WEEK OPEN HOUSE

Dallas YMCA HONORs MILITARY peRSONNEL AND FIRST RESPONDERS

“Thank you” is hardly enough for the courageous and difficult service given by members of the military and our First Responders each and every day.  In appreciation for those in uniform, the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas proudly invites all active military personnel, first responders, past and present, along with their families, to ENJOY THE Y FOR FREE at one of our 19 YMCA locations during the week of Memorial Day, May 27th - 31st. Military ID or Department ID required.

Throughout our 175-year history, the YMCA has supported military personnel and their families. Since 2008, the YMCA in partnership with the U.S. Department of Defense has offered Y memberships through the Military Outreach Initiative. Nationally the YMCA Military Outreach Initiative has provided nearly 100,000 Y memberships to military members and their families across the county.  The initiative helps to address the needs of families of deployed military personnel who live far from a military installation and require access to child development, family strengthening, and health and well-being programming.

The YMCA Military Outreach Initiative leverages the YMCA movement’s national scale and mission to engage families facing the hardship and uncertainty of military deployment. The nation’s 2,700 YMCAs have the unique capacity to respond to the needs of this widely dispersed population through supportive, community-based programs that foster a healthy spirit, mind and body.
