Volunteer and Internship Opportunities

Community members, parents, and young adults are encouraged to volunteer at The Ashford Rise School of Dallas. Volunteers may work in the classrooms, assist in the office, or help with community fundraising events like our annual Runway for Rise fashion show.

The Rise School partners with volunteer organizations like the Junior League of Dallas, the National Charity League, and the Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas, as well as community volunteers. Please see below for just some of the many volunteer opportunities Rise offers.

Sunrise Helper

Between 8-10 am, Weekdays

Sunrise helpers assist during arrival and support students in morning activities as they prepare for the day.

Afternoon Play Pal

Monday through Friday, 2:30-5:30

Volunteer in our after-care program.  Play games, read books, and support play in our after-care program.  Can stay 1 hour or all three.

Special Event Volunteer

Throughout the year, Varying Days/Times

Special Event Volunteers assist in preparing and on-site management of fundraising events (e.g., Runway for Rise) and events held at the school (e.g., Easter Egg Hunt).  Volunteers will work with the Director of Development to identify where their strengths will best serve each event.

Therapist Shadow

Weekdays, 8:45-11:30am

Work with a Rise licensed therapist to prepare materials, take notes, and assist with the execution of therapies. Choose from our on-site speech, occupational, physical, and music therapists.  These are very limited and have additional qualifications that need to be met.

Please note that in-school volunteer opportunities are weekdays between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m., and event volunteer opportunities vary.
