From Afterschool Leader to Director: Shadiedre Cox’s Inspiring Journey at Rise

A Journey of Growth and Dedication
Rise is proud to announce the promotion of Shadiedre Cox to Business Service Director!
Since beginning her journey at Rise in February 2019, Shadiedre has exemplified what it means to serve with heart. She started as an afterschool group leader and quickly advanced to aftercare lead. When the YMCA restructured during the pandemic, she eagerly embraced a multifaceted full-time role supporting afterschool programs, classrooms, and office operations.
“The best thing about working at Rise is working with the children and seeing them grow,” Shadiedre shared. “I especially enjoy working with our special populations because I can see the difference my work makes every day.”
Making a Lasting Impact
Her ability to connect with families and witness the positive transformations of the children she serves is what continues to inspire her. The strong sense of community at Rise, with alum families staying in touch and sharing updates, is something she deeply cherishes.
Outside of work, Shadiedre enjoys reading, exploring new restaurants, attending local festivals, and planning adventures with her sisters. With her youngest son now in college, she’s embracing her next chapter with excitement and joy.
Reflecting the Mission and Values of The Ashford Rise School of Dallas
We couldn’t be more thrilled for Shadiedre as she steps into this critical leadership position. Her journey embodies the values and mission of Rise, a community rooted in inclusion, family-centered education, and compassionate care.
