June Recap: Expanding Our Reach in North Texas

From groundbreaking to grand openings, June was packed with celebrations at the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas—each one bringing new spaces and fresh possibilities to life for our members and communities.
Waxahachie Family YMCA Park Groundbreaking – June 10
In partnership with the City of Waxahachie and Ellis County, Texas , we broke ground on the Cindy Hess Memorial Park, a new community park located next to the Waxahachie Family YMCA. The park will feature a pavilion, walking trail, sports fields, outdoor fitness areas, and more. We’re also actively raising funds to renovate and expand the Y facility, with construction planned for 2026.

YMCA Camp Grady Spruce: Ribbon Cutting Celebration Phase One – June 17
We unveiled eight brand-new cabins and a renovated Dining Hall on the Ray Bean side of Camp Grady Spruce, with a new Welcome Center on the horizon. The expanded cabin capacity—from 144 to 256 beds—means more kids can experience the magic of camp, grow in confidence, and build lasting friendships. We're excited to keep the momentum as we transition into Phase Two of our campaign.

Park South Family YMCA Grand Opening Ceremony – June 24
Over 300 community members joined us to celebrate the opening of the new Park South Family YMCA. More than just a building, this new facility serves as a vital second home—a place where health is restored, relationships flourish, and generations gather to learn, grow, and belong.
These projects show our commitment to creating vibrant spaces where the community can belong and thrive.
