Keeping You Informed: Ebola Virus

In keeping with the mission and values of the YMCA we believe in keeping you informed about any incident that may directly or indirectly involve you or your child!

Ebola, previously known as Ebola hemorrhagic fever, is a rare disease caused by infection with one of the Ebola virus strains. Based on information from Dallas County Health and Human Services and the CDC, we have no reason to believe that there is an increased health concern related to our YMCA members or staff participating at the YMCA or in YMCA activities. It’s important to know that Ebola is not spread as easily as influenza and other more common illnesses, and it is not spread by someone who is not experiencing symptoms. We encourage you to review the information sheet from the CDC on Ebola.
