What is Youth & Government?

A nation-wide YMCA program in which students learn the mechanics of government and the media by participating in hands-on activities in their club at their school or local YMCA. Texas Youth & Government

How do we participate in YG?

  • Ask your local YMCA to do a presentation at your school
  • Engage a dedicated adult advisor
  • Begin a club with your local YMCA
  • Prepare, practice and participate!

*Financial Assistance & Income Based Club fees are available

Why participate in YG?

YG is a life-changing program.

Saturday, February 9th, 2018 – DFW Model United Nations Regional Summit - Texas Women’s University, T. Boone Pickens Campus

Friday, February 22nd, 2018 – Sunday, February 24th, 2018 – Middle School Youth and Government State Conference - Austin, TX

Summer 2019 – Conference on National Affairs (CONA) and National Judicial Conference (NJC)

 

Fees:

$75 - District Conference Fee

$390 - High School State Conference Fee (Includes travel to and from Austin, hotel accommodations, conference fee, conference t-shirt, night time activities and banquet).

$360 - Middle School State Conference Fee (Includes travel to and from Austin, hotel accommodations, conference fee, conference t-shirt, night time activities and banquet).
