The Park South Family YMCA has been a beacon of the community for the last 50 years. In 1968, then Mayor J. Eric Johnson and his wife proposed a million-dollar challenge gift to the businesses and citizens of South Dallas to build a Y. Two years later in 1970, the facility was opened, and the Park South YMCA has served the South Dallas and Pleasant Grove communities since. Annually, more than 3,000 residents who reside predominantly in one of five zip codes: 75215, 75217, 75227, 75216, and 75210 are served by the Park South Family
The Park South Family YMCA is a non-profit organization that serves the local community through membership and programs. We are led by a local board of volunteers that receive no compensation or benefits for their service to the YMCA.
