The Waxahachie Family YMCA was established in 1985 and has served Ellis County for more than 38 years. Today, members enjoy more than 60 different health and wellness classes each week, as well as after school care at elementary schools within Waxahachie and Midlothian school districts. Other programs include aquatics, youth sports, teen programs, adaptive sports and many more activities for all ages. Last year, as a result of the YMCA Annual Campaign, led by the Board of Management, the Waxahachie YMCA awarded more than $94,000 in financial assistance to children and families in need of healthy, character-building YMCA programs and services.
The YMCA is governed by the Board of Directors who holds title to all real estate and establishes overall policy providing direction to the various Branch Operations. The Board of Directors confers a broad range of authority to the Branch Boards of Management who assume responsibility for advising each YMCA.
