Emerging Leaders Summer Experience

At the Y, we proudly offer teens with a safe space to grow and learn every summer. Through different weekly themes or educational opportunities, teens are inspired and empowered as they experience traditional camp as they swim, work in teams, play fun games, and make new friends. Available at select YMCA locations throughout the summer, Emerging Leaders Summer Experience offers teens a chance to work together, learn new skills, and discover new things about themselves.

Our goal is simple: Help teens work together, build new skills, boost decision-making and conflict resolution, and discover something new about themselves each day.

What Makes this Different from a Typical Summer Camp?

The Emerging Leaders Program has three main focuses for a week:

1. Service Focus Week: Partner with other non-profits for volunteer service opportunities for the teens (food banks, animal shelters, nursing homes, etc.)
2. Real World Skills Focus Week: Financial Literacy, Cooking Demos, Mental Wellness
3. Fun Focus Week: Week of Field Trips

The Acheivers curriculum is weaved throughout the program.

Camp Amenities:

• Weekly swimming and field trips included
• STEM Programming with Community Partners
• Listening to professional speakers, including career and mental wellness speakers
• Planning and volunteering with various service projects
• Camper shirt included
• Two snacks per day included (Lunch by USDA provided at select locations)
