Investing in the Future of the J.E.R. Chilton YMCA at Rockwall
The J.E.R. Chilton YMCA at Rockwall is moving forward with an important fundraising campaign to strengthen and expand the spaces that serve our community every day. This effort is focused on improving access, safety, and programming, so the YMCA can continue meeting the needs of families, youth, and seniors for years to come.
The planned improvements will enhance some of the most heavily used areas of the branch, creating a better experience for members and guests alike. These updates include renovations to the Natatorium, expanded fitness spaces, and improved parking to better accommodate our growing community.
Together, these projects will help ensure the YMCA remains a welcoming, accessible place where people can build healthy habits, connect with one another, and feel a true sense of belonging.
Planned Improvements Include:
- Natatorium Renovation to rebuild and winterize the roof and exterior walls for year-round use, add a new changing room, and enhance comfort and safety for swim lessons, water safety programs, swim sports, and recreational swimming.
- New Group Exercise Studio to expand wellness offerings and create additional opportunities for members to connect through fitness.
- Expanded Parking Lot to improve accessibility and convenience for members and guests.
These improvements are essential to supporting the YMCA’s mission and ensuring the building can continue serving the Rockwall community well into the future.
An Opportunity to Multiply Community Impact
As part of this capital campaign, the Rockwall Y has been offered a $500,000 challenge grant opportunity from the J.E. & L.E. Mabee Foundation. To satisfy this challenge, the J.E.R. Chilton YMCA must raise $892,670 in additional community support by January 13, 2027.
If this goal is met, the Mabee Foundation’s $500,000 grant will be awarded, significantly accelerating progress toward the campaign’s $5.2 million goal and helping bring these critical improvements to life.
