Plano front

In 1966 The YMCA began as a joint effort between the Plano Jaycees and the Richardson YMCA in a building on Ave. K, formerly the Bob Davis Food Store.  In 1971, the building on Ave. K burned down and PISD allowed the YMCA to use space in the Cox Gym office to run programs.  In 1973, the YMCA moved to Glencliff, located in central Plano, and in 2000, relocated to Legacy Park in the old EDS headquarters.  In 2006, the YMCA opened in its current location.

The YMCA mission is to "Put Christian values into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all". At the Plano Family YMCA you can see this every day. We serve over 8,000 people across all services, which include membership, health and wellness programs, summer camps, youth sports, and teen programs.  We serve a diverse population of ages and races, providing for all residents, regardless of ability to pay.

YSTAFF

The YMCA is governed by the Board of Directors who holds title to all real estate and establishes overall policy providing direction to the various Branch Operations. The Board of Directors confers a broad range of authority to the Branch Boards of Management who assume responsibility for advising each YMCA.

We are very proud of the Plano Family YMCA Board of Management.
