Livestrong at the YMCA is more than just a fitness program for cancer survivors. It's a place that provides a sense of belong and support. Chris participated in the Livestrong program at the Plano Family YMCA. He shares what the program means to him.

Chris' Livestrong Story

I didn’t want to miss the chance to share what the LIVESTRONG program at the YMCA has meant to me.

As someone living with chronic leukemia lymphoma, finding the right balance between strength, energy, and hope hasn’t always been easy. The LIVESTRONG program has been more than just exercise for me it’s been a lifeline. It’s a place where survivors support one another, where every small victory counts, and where we’re reminded that healing isn’t just physical, it’s emotional and mental too.

The trainers and staff truly understand what we’re going through. Their encouragement helps us rebuild confidence in our bodies and ourselves. And the friendships that grow out of this program are powerful they keep you moving forward even on the hard days.

I’m so grateful to the YMCA and everyone who supports this program. You’re not just helping people get stronger; you’re helping us reclaim pieces of our lives that illness tries to take away.

Thank you for continuing to make that possible.

Priyanka has been amazing along with all the staff. The women in my group are warriors and I am in awe of their resilience, perseverance and outlook.
