A Bright Future in 2026 for Livestrong at the YMCA
Livestrong at the YMCA is a program designed specifically for cancer survivors. Participants engage in twice a week for a 12-week physical activity program led by certified personal trainers who are specially trained to support the unique physical and emotional needs of individuals impacted by cancer. Beyond the fitness component, the program fosters a strong sense of community, connecting participants with others who share similar experiences and creating a supportive, encouraging environment.
We are proud to share the people we were able to support in 2025 and what’s coming up in 2026 for LIVESTRONG at the YMCA.
The Impact Made in 2025
In 2025, the Livestrong at the YMCA cancer survivor program was offered at ten YMCA branches, serving 103 participants across all locations. Of these, 65 were new participants, reflecting continued growth and community engagement among cancer survivors seeking supportive wellness programming.
2026 Program Growth
We plan to expand the program to six additional YMCA branches, increasing access to survivorship-focused exercise and wellness support for cancer survivors throughout the community.
Refer Us to Your Patients
We aim to reach more individuals battling cancer this year and would greatly appreciate your support. You can help by referring your patients to our program. We welcome referrals from:
Oncology care teams
Nurse navigators
Cancer support organizations
Community partners
These collaborations will help strengthen referral pathways and ensure that long-term cancer survivors are connected to programs that support both recovery and long-term cardiovascular health.
